Moving from abroad

Are you planning on moving to Leidschendam-Voorburg from abroad? If so, remember that you must register with the municipality within 5 days of your arrival. To register, you will need to make a personal appointment by calling the Service Centre. During the call, you will also be told what you need to bring to the appointment.

What you need to know

  • Telephone number for international calls: +31 70 300 90 00
  • Each individual in your household must register with the municipality in person. That includes your partner and/or children, if they will be staying in the Netherlands for longer than 4 months

Staying in the Netherlands for less than 4 months

If you will be staying in the Netherlands for less than 4 months, you cannot register with the municipality. Instead, you must register at one of the 18 RNI locations (Non-residents Records Database). The nearest RNI location is in The Hague. Expat service for knowledge migrants

If you are moving to the Netherlands because you work for a company that participates in the IND’s knowledge migrant scheme, then you can quickly and conveniently register with the municipality via The Hague International Center’s Expat Service.
